This is a great picture that brings back bittersweet memories. Rob and I were at Yankee Stadium the day Mickey Mantle died, August 15, 1995. Here Rob is in Monument Park in front of Mantle's retired number. Pictured also are the four greatest Yankee retired numbers, four of the greatest in all of sports, in fact......Gehrig, Ruth, DiMaggio, and Mantle.
The trip we were on took us to Boston and Fenway Park the next day, and then on to Cooperstown , NY to baseball's Hall of Fame for a day. Quite a time and quite a trip.
